BONDING OF FIBREGLASS ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS

Edon Corporation
In a recently completed architectural retrofit project Edon produced and mounted 400 massive ( 1.2m x 3m) FRP fins to the exterior of the applied Industrial Technologies' new corporate headquarters.

Edon selected Plexus M420 Adhesive for this critical bonding application. The adhesive substantially reduced labour costs by allowing the fins to be bonded during production, substantially reducing the need for mechanical fasteners and final finishing. Plexus Adhesives were used to bond the fins to an aluminium frame system which was then bolted to the building.

With over 35 years experience in he design, manufacture, and installation of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) architectural ornamentation, Edon Corporation is America's leading supplier of architectural fiberglass. The company offers over 250 standard architectural shapes from column covers to cornices of every type.

Little or No Surface Preparation
Plexus Adhesives can be used without sanding, grinding, or other surface preparation in most cases. Because they require no primer, Plexus reduces the use of chlorinated solvents and the health and environmental concerns associated with them.

Easy to Mix and Apply
Most Plexus two-component adhesives are combined in either 1:1 or 10:1 ratios, allowing them to be mixed and dispensed using handheld cartridge dispensers or meter-mix equipment. The adhesives are easy to dispense, break cleanly at the end of a bead, and possess excellent gap-filling characteristics. Plexus Adhesives can be used on vertical or inverted surfaces without sagging. Excellent for cosmetic repairs and surface contouring and finishing applications, Plexus filled adhesives are easily sanded and painted.
